The story about a bag and it's owner

Bookmark and Share
Today I found a bag at a flea market. It smells old, like it's been used for a really long time and then been stored away in a cellar. The lining is ripped apart and in the bottom of the bag, after digging deep under the lining I found an old Norwegian coin that's been out of use for some years, a letter from the bank dated 1998 and a little match box that looks quite old with a few matches left.

If I should guess who the owner was I'd say an elderly lady living a simple life. Someone who followed the same routines as always and kept her home tidy. She might have been a bit lonely, but with lots of nice memories to think of. Perhaps she had one or two grandchildren that she saw every now and then. Her walls would have old paintings of the nature on, and her own wedding photo. In her closet you'd find longs skirts, a few jackets, jumpers, a lovely coat and some scarves and looking at her jewellery box would be like opening a treasure chest. She'd wear big glasses when reading or knitting, trousers when cleaning and when going to the shop or the bank she'd wear her coat and some practical shoes, apply her lipstick, grab her bag and light a cigarette.

Above is the match box I found in the bag
