1940's inspiration

Photos showing normal people of the period are such a great source of inspiration. The style was quite simple; without too many accessories in the every-day outfits. Basic garments of high quality and with a good cut were important and some of the 'must haves' in a 1940's wardrobe were floral dresses, blouses, pencil skirts, a tweed jacket and also men's trousers. And of course the hair was beautifully curled or set up.
